The use of needles to beautify the skin has been a part of Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The idea of microneedling and nano needling are based on the premise of the seven-star hammer/plum blossom needle historically used to treat hair loss and skin concerns such as wrinkles and dyschromia. While the tools for microneedling and nano needling are new, the practice is steeped in Chinese Medicine.
Microneedling Therapy -- aka Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), and/or Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI) -- is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure utilizing a medical grade micro-needling pen designed for safe and effective treatments. It can be used to visibly delay signs of aging, address hair loss, acne and scarring.
With your treatment, you receive a full body acupuncture treatment along with microneedling or nano-needling, depending on your needs. This is unique to our office, and differs from a conventional aestheticians' office, as we also treat YOU from a constitutional individualized view. Again, your skin health is a reflection of your internal health, and with acupuncture we optimize your health from all aspects - mind, body, soul. These treatments, when combined, are a potent mix.
Micro-needling results in the production of new collagen and elastin, improvement in skin tone and texture, firmness as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. It is good for increasing collagen, addressing deep wrinkles and age spots. One treatment per month for 4 to 6 months is recommended for optimum results (even though results may vary person to person and additional treatments may be needed depending on your unique needs).
Nano-needling can be used to address fine lines, under eye swelling and/or sagging skin and it is known to boost absorption of serums. It's a treatment that can be administered weekly as a stand alone treatment OR in the "off" weeks between Micro needling appointments.
We allocate 60+ minutes for micro- and nano-needling treatments, as you receive a comprehensive acupuncture treatment during this time.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is known to treat wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth, eyes and forehead. It’s got a lifting effect so it’s an exciting way to address sagging in the jowl area (below chin or jaw line), around the eyes and in the neck area. It’s is combined with facial cupping and facial gua sha — two therapies that plump and smooth the skin. We allocate 60+ minutes for this treatment + full body comprehensive acupuncture.
Red Light Therapy — Photobiomodulation also known as Light Therapy (red light therapy or blue light therapy) can be added to any facial service. The light from the LED interacts with cells and stimulates them to produce new collagen and elastin. It’s very helpful in the treatment of acne scars, skin rejuvenation and skin dyschromia. It increases the production of melatonin in the body, oxygenates the blood, stimulates stem cells and increases mitochondrial repair. We use the *640 NM wavelength (red light) which is proved to reduce recovery time from injury.

Micro Needling Single Treatment
One treatment per month for 4-6 months is recommended for optimum results (see series option below). Microneedling increases collagen production, decreases deep wrinkles, decreases fine lines around the lips and forehead and breaks up age spots. It’s also used to treat acne, scarring and hair loss. These treatments include a full-body comprehensive acupuncture treatment and culminates with a luxurious, deeply hydrating gel mask infused with east asian botanicals that rejuvenate, nourish and cool the skin. Patients receive a complimentary take-home, skin care kit to continue to nourish skin and boost overall results of treatment.

Nano Needling Single Treatment
Nano-Needling only affects the epidermis, treating within the upper .15 mm of the skin. The benefits of this serum infusion treatment include pigmentation reduction, increased cell turnover, skin rejuvenation and an immediate glow with no downtime. This treatment can be received weekly to exfoliate the skin, used in the “off” weeks between Microneedling appointments and patients can add Red Light Therapy to these appointments to deepen the nano needling effects.

Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, can be used to address loss of collagen & elastin, improves pigmentation (age spots and freckles), addresses acne and acne scarring, increases production of melatonin (goodbye insomnia!), reduces inflammation, increases oxygen content in blood and more. There is no downtime with light therapy. It can be a stand alone treatment or added on to any other facial service except microneedling.
If used as a stand-alone treatment, a series of 10 is recommended and can be utilized multiple times each week.
