The use of needles to beautify the skin has been a part of Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The idea of microneedling and nano needling are based on the premise of the seven-star hammer/plum blossom needle historically used to treat hair loss and skin concerns such as wrinkles and dyschromia. While the tools for microneedling and nano needling are new, the practice is steeped in Chinese Medicine.
Microneedling Therapy -- aka Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), and/or Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI) -- is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure utilizing a medical grade micro-needling pen designed for safe and effective treatments. It can be used to visibly delay signs of aging, address hair loss, acne and scarring.
With your treatment, you receive a full body acupuncture treatment along with microneedling or nano-needling, depending on your needs. This is unique to our office, and differs from a conventional aestheticians' office, as we also treat YOU from a constitutional individualized view. Again, your skin health is a reflection of your internal health, and with acupuncture we optimize your health from all aspects - mind, body, soul. These treatments, when combined, are a potent mix.
Micro-needling results in the production of new collagen and elastin, improvement in skin tone and texture, firmness as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. It is good for increasing collagen, addressing deep wrinkles and age spots. One treatment per month for 4 to 6 months is recommended for optimum results (even though results may vary person to person and additional treatments may be needed depending on your unique needs).
Nano-needling can be used to address fine lines, under eye swelling and/or sagging skin and it is known to boost absorption of serums. It's a treatment that can be administered weekly as a stand alone treatment OR in the "off" weeks between Micro needling appointments.
We allocate 60+ minutes for micro- and nano-needling treatments, as you receive a comprehensive acupuncture treatment during this time.

Nano-Needling only affects the epidermis, treating within the upper .15 mm of the skin. The benefits of this serum infusion treatment include pigmentation reduction, increased cell turnover, skin rejuvenation and an immediate glow with no downtime. This treatment can be done weekly to exfoliate the skin or used in the “off” weeks between Microneedling appointments.
